How long to Cosmetic Tattoos last?

Cosmetic tattoos are considered to be semi-permanent procedures.  The human immune system breaks down pigment and skin constantly renews itself.  Therefore, it eventually fades and can become nearly invisible.  This is why these tattoos require a "color boost" toward the end of their lifespan to maintain their initial appearance.  Because pigment particles are never guaranteed to 100% disappear from the skin, Permanent makeup recieves its 'Permanent' title.  Skin type, skin care, immune strength, and procedure method all play a role in how long Cosmetic Tattoos will last.  For example:  Brows can last 1-2 years, Eyeliner 3-5 years, Lip Blush 2-5 years.  Paramedical tattoos can last even longer.

Are Cosmetic Tattoos painful?

Most procedures are initially performed under a topical anesthetic.  A secondary numbing agent is applied after the skin is opened to allow for even more effective numbing.  Many clients tend to doze off during their tattoo...

Are Cosmetic Tattoos safe?

Yes.  Pigment has been inspected and certified by the Williamson County Health Department and is BloodBorne Pathogen Certified, keeping clients safe from the spread of bloodborne illnesses.  All procedures are performed under sterile conditions, using only disposable blades/needle cartidges and supplies, following all guidelines and requirements set by the CDC and OSHA.

Temporary side effects may include swelling and/or tenderness to the area treated.  Allergic reactions are rare. Clients are obliged to inform artist about any skin conditions and health problems in order to avoid complications during and after the treatment.

Can Cosmetic Tattoos be removed?

Yes, but it can take time.  There are 3 common types of removal for Cosmetic Tattoos, each taking multiple sessions with healing time in between.  These methods are Laser, Glycolic, and Saline.

Pigment provides Saline Removal services.  Saline removal is designed specifically for Cosmetic Tattoos/Permanent Makeup.  The procedure is essentially the same as a tattoo, using a specific Saline Removal Agent instead of pigment.  This removal works via Osmosis - salt water is injected and moves the pigment up to the skin's surface where it can eventually scab and slough off.  Saline removal can be 100% effective if done correctly.  It is impossible to predict how many sessions it may take, but 2-8 is a typical estimate.  Recovery time between sessions is 4-6 weeks, or until the treated is completely healed.
