Lip Blush Aftercare
LIP AFTERCARE
DOs:
Apply provided ointment on lips several times a day for at least 14 days post treatment. Do not allow lips to become dry as it may interfere with healed color.
Always use a clean fingers or applicator to tap ointment to the lips and do not rub in. This will reduce the risk of infection.
It is normal and expected for lips to flake a few days into healing. Do NOT pick or scratch at them, as it may significantly reduce the amount pigment absorption.
You can resume wearing lipstick once lips are healed.
DON'Ts:
Avoid the sun and tanning beds pre and post procedure. Use sun block once lips are healed.
Do not use any Glycolic, Hydroxy or fruit acid products on lips.
Avoid direct water pressure, pools and other bodies of water, until healed.
Avoid oily, salty, acidic foods and alcohol while healing.
BE ADVISED:
Lips will feel swollen, tender and very dry after your treatment.
Lips are a muscle and are unpredictable. Some clients will yield very strong healed lip color. Others will only heal with slight color uptake. This will vary on an individual basis. Hyperpigmentation can happen on any lip client without warning.
Clients with sun damage, scar tissue (from injury or fever blisters) and clients with implants may not have strong results.
If you have a history of Fever Blisters, Cold Sores or Chicken Pox, we advise you to go to the doctor or for an anti-viral medication prior to any lip procedure, to help avoid an outbreak.
Lip retouch must be scheduled 30 to 45 days apart from initial season to help with color retention.
Saline Removal Aftercare
SALINE REMOVAL AFTERCARE
IMMEDIATELY POST-PROCEDURE:
Keep the treated area clean and DRY. Blot with saline and guaze pad 3x a day.
No ice!
A protective scab will form - DO NOT PICK - Scab will naturally peel away in 10-14 days. During this time, the scab will continue to collect pigment to remove. If picked, healing and removal will not be as effective and could result in scarring.
Avoid heat, hot water, high pressure water, heavy sweating, swimming, and sun exposure.
Refrain from alcohol and smoking.
AFTER SCAB FALLS AWAY:
Avoid sun for 12 weeks, reintroducing gradually.
Do not re-treat area for at least 6-8 weeks or until completely healed and 'normal' skin texture returns.
During this time, keep skin moisturized with recommended aftercare, firmly massaging 2-3 times a day.
