HEALING PROCESS

It's hard to trust the process without knowing it, right?

I'm all about setting appropriate expectations!

Below you will find the description of a typical healing timeline, plus a few photos.

*healing times vary based on aftercare, skin type, etc*

BROW HEALING

  • Days 1-4: brows are dark, especially on day 2 - expect them to fade 30-40%

  • Days 5-10: scabbing and flaking, may itch - don't pick or scratch!

  • Days 8-11: brows are patchy and too light as scabs flake, almost disappear

  • Days 11-41: color is coming back, still not totally perfect - schedule your touchup

  • 6-8 Weeks: touchup appointment (all services are a 2 visit process)

  • Post Touchup: within a few weeks your brows will have their final shape and color

*These results are normal for Microblading. Shading may heal more easily as it can be less traumatic to the skin*

TIPS TO GET YOU THROUGH:

  1. Plan the date of your brow treatment carefully, bearing in mind that your brows will not look their best for a few weeks afterwards.

  2. Don't obsess. The scabbing is awkward. I recommend a book or Netflix binge instead of time in front of the mirror.

  3. Keep in mind: once the healing process is over, you're set for 12-18 months (or longer) before you'll need a color boost. You made it!

LIP HEALING

  • Day 1: lips are quite swollen, tender, color is BRIGHT - expect them to fade 40-50% by 6 weeks

  • Day 2: swelling is decreasing, tenderness increasing (like a sunburn), lips are super dry

  • Days 3-4: heavy peeling and dryness - no picking!! (seriously, no picking)

  • Days 5-10: minor peeling and color ghosting - don't panic, color will re-emerge gradually

  • 6-8 Weeks: lips are at final color - time for your touchup visit (all services are a 2 visit process)

TIPS TO GET YOU THROUGH:

  1. Plan the date of your lip treatment carefully. You'll want to avoid spicy food, smooching, etc for the next week or so. Plan your social engagements accordingly.

  2. You can use ice packs to calm the swelling. Keep it under 15 minutes at a time.

  3. Days 3-5ish are the worst. Your lips are patchy. The scabbing is awkward. The mirror is not your friend. Be kind to yourself, it's almost over. I repeat, don't pick.

  4. Keep in mind: once the healing process is complete, you're set for 2-5 years (from initial touchup) before you'll need a color boost. You did it!
